Dr. Kathy Cooter is the Educational Liaison of the Kentucky Council for Economic Education and Professor of Early Childhood/Special Education at Bellarmine University in Louisville Kentucky. Professor Cooter also served as principal investigator for the Tennessee Early Intervention System (TEIS) serving the needs of children of over 3000 families in West Tennessee. Cooter directed the academic and research activities of both Texas Christian University (TCU) laboratory schools and has a wing in the Starpoint School named in her honor. Professor Cooter served twenty years as a teacher and administrator in both private and public schools serving children with learning needs. Professor Cooter has been honored as Texas Teacher of the Year, Mortar Board Professor at TCU and received the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching at the University of Memphis. Professor Cooter has served as a principal at the elementary and intermediate school level, as a middle school assistant principal and as a central office special education director.
